Wallet and IBAN infrastructure

Digital asset custody built into the payment account

Balances sit in a MiCA-compliant custodial wallet that is the environment your payments run in, not a separately sold custody product.

Here are our answers to those four. Custody with NGPES is the environment your payments run in rather than a separately sold service.

  • Payment Institution today
  • EMI in progress, France
  • CASP in progress, France
  • GDPR and DORA compliant
  • ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II in progress
How a payment runs

The four answers

Where it sits

In a custodial wallet linked to your account. Depending on the supported network, different wallet addresses may apply.

Who moves it

You do, through Send, Make a Payment and Swap, to destinations recorded in advance.

What constrains it

Counterparties must be pre-registered and sources whitelisted. There is no free-text destination.

How you prove it

A real-time dashboard plus a full transaction history that exports to CSV or Excel.

How custody is structured here

The custodial wallet is the primary custody and processing environment on the platform. Each account is linked to one, and every payment action runs from it.

  • One wallet per account, with subaccount separation beneath it. Subaccounts allow more granular structuring, including separate wallet usage across teams, functions or payment flows.
  • Addresses follow the network. Depending on the supported blockchain network, different wallet addresses may be used within the platform environment. Matching the asset and the network is the single most important operational detail.
  • Only supported assets are held. Selected MiCA-compliant stablecoins, and nothing outside that set.
  • Fiat is not held at all. Fiat connectivity is enabled externally through the linked IBAN and the on-ramp and off-ramp process.

Controls built into every payment

Most of the operational risk in cross-border payments comes from paying the wrong party, or taking money from a source you cannot account for. NGPES makes both a deliberate step.

  • We pre-register your counterparties. Funds can only be sent to a party already recorded in the platform, with the routing details attached. There is no free-text payment field to get wrong.
  • We whitelist your sources. Money can only be received from parties you have approved in advance.
  • We hold unknown sources. If funds arrive from a source that is not recognised, they are placed on hold and the support team contacts you. They are then either returned or released to you.
  • Subaccounts separate the flows. One organisation account can hold subaccounts per team, function or payment flow, each with its own balances and transaction history, all under central control.
  • We keep everything on the record. The dashboard shows balances, activity and account-level liquidity in real time, and Activity exports the full history to CSV or Excel for reconciliation.

Custody as an operating environment, not a product

It is worth being straight about the framing, because custody is sold in this market as a standalone institutional service and that is not what this is.

On the NGPES platform, custody is the environment your balance sits in so that the five payment actions can run against it. It is infrastructure underneath the payments rather than a separately purchased safekeeping arrangement.

If you are looking for a qualified custodian mandate, segregated cold storage tiers, or an institutional custody agreement as a discrete product, ask the team directly rather than assuming the platform's custodial wallet is the same offering. It is a fair question and it deserves a direct answer rather than an inference from a marketing page.

Your own external wallets and accounts

  1. 1Register them. External bank accounts and wallet addresses belonging to your organisation can be registered in the platform.
  2. 2They are verified. Verification happens before they can be used for anything.
  3. 3They work for your own flows. Once verified, they support on-ramp and off-ramp activity involving the same organisation.
  4. 4Control stays with you. The platform does not provide access over external accounts or wallets. It enables their use for verified transaction flows only.

Settlement speed

Here is what each leg takes.

LegTiming
Stablecoin transferSettles instantly within the platform, once funds have been received and are available.
Stablecoin to fiat conversionInstant.
Fiat arriving at the recipientDepends on the destination currency, the geography and the external banking rails involved. NGPES does not control this leg.
Fiat top-upDepends on the inbound transfer reaching your linked IBAN.

The digital asset layer is instant once liquidity is available, and the fiat legs at either end move at the speed of the banks involved. That is a large improvement on a correspondent banking chain, and it is not the same as end-to-end instant.

What the platform supports

This is what the platform supports today.

Position today
StablecoinsSelected MiCA-compliant stablecoins only. Assets outside that set are not held on the platform.
Non-compliant assetsFunds arriving in an asset that is not MiCA-compliant can be converted into a MiCA-compliant one, as a case-by-case exception, not a standing service.
FiatMoves in and out through the linked IBAN via on-ramp and off-ramp. Fiat balances are not held on the platform.
SwapBetween supported MiCA-compliant stablecoins only.
External accountsYou can register your own external bank accounts and wallet addresses. They are verified before use, and only for flows involving the same organisation.

Frequently asked questions

How are balances held?

In a custodial wallet linked to your account. It is the primary custody and processing environment, and every payment action runs from it.

Is fiat held in custody too?

No. Fiat is not held on the platform. It moves in and out through the linked IBAN via the on-ramp and off-ramp process.

Which assets are held?

Selected MiCA-compliant stablecoins only.

Can we separate custody across business units?

Yes. Subaccounts support more granular structuring, including separate wallet usage across teams, functions or payment flows.

Does NGPES control our external wallets?

No. You can register and verify your own external accounts and wallets, and the platform enables their use for verified flows involving the same organisation. It does not take control of them.

Is this a standalone institutional custody service?

The custodial wallet is the operating environment for payments on the platform rather than a separately sold custody mandate. If you need a discrete custody arrangement, ask the team directly.

What is the audit trail?

A real-time dashboard covering balances, activity and account-level liquidity, plus a full transaction history exportable to CSV or Excel.

Ask the specific custody question you actually have.

We would rather answer it directly than have you infer it from a page.
